Mr. Paul Nolley
Paul was elected to the Board of Directors in March 2019. He has over a decade of experience in advocacy, activism, and administration in various community organizations and nonprofit agencies. He received a BA in Politics and Government in addition to English Studies from Illinois State University in 2011. Paul will earn his Master’s of Public Administration from Northern Illinois University in 2020.
He also holds a Professional Development Certification from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.
Paul was born and raised in the Rockford area. He committed to community service and civic engagement in his high school years and began his career with internships for the McLean County Habitat for Humanity and Illinois People’s Action. Upon his return to his hometown, Paul led get-out-the-vote efforts for a successful senate campaign. He then returned to the nonprofit sector by joining the YMCA of Rock River Valley, where he led fundraising, program and advocacy efforts for several years.
More recently, he worked for the United Way of Rock River Valley, where he managed charitable investments and community grants, early childhood education programs, and volunteer-based projects. He now leads fundraising efforts for the Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity. He remains active as a volunteer for local nonprofit boards and civic groups.
